It’s no secret that the healthcare space has been really chaotic the last few years and so many people are looking for other ways of supporting their health. I have always been interested in holistic wellness for myself, but recent events have really solidified my desire to focus on the whole person when helping my patients. One of the biggest drivers for my interest in nutrition was dealing with my sons chronic constipation and my patients in the clinic dealing with things like eczema, allergies, asthma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, recurrent illnesses and so many other things. I knew that there had to be a better way to manage these things and felt like nutrition might be the key!

I decided to go back to school and get holistic nutrition training. Once I got started in my training it became even more evident how essential this work truly is. Almost all of the things that I was seeing patients for on a regular basis in my work as a pediatric nurse practitioner came down to dysfunction in the core functions of our bodies & their systems. And guess what… our diet and lifestyle were the key drivers in this dysfunction! The ticket to health and reversing illness is really found in getting the nutrients we need through food. Through my education in holistic nutrition I have FINALLY found the way to truly help people achieve true wellness.

Bonus fun fact— Little Bites for Healthy Lives is the third podcast I have created! Before Little Bites I had a podcast for moms called Perfectly Unprepared and started my podcast journey with a podcast for nurses called The Nightingal Podcast!

 A Few Fun Facts…

01. My kids don’t eat all organic and yes…they eat the treats at their friends birthday parties!

I’m all about creating a realistic relationship with food for my kids! I think it’s important to focus on the big picture and that means the consistent daily habits.

02. My kids go through picky phases too!

This is a normal part of kids development and alot of the tips for navigating picky eating that I help parents with come from going through it myself!

03. You can find pizza and frozen chicken nuggets regularly in our house!

My approach to feeding my kids and helping you feed yours is more about adding in more of the foods that you want them to eat and not necessarily about restricting “bad foods”. It’s all about finding the balance!
